Ag Progress Days Food Booth

    Each year PVGA operates a food booth at Penn State University's annual Ag Progress Days, an outdoor agricultural trade show, near Rock Springs, Pennsylvania.  PVGA members and friends, especially University staff and extension educators, volunteer to serve the following "Simply Delicious" Pennsylvania vegetable and small fruit treats:

"Strawberry Surprises,"

    630 vegetable stir-fry servings,

    600 watermelon and cantaloupe fruit cups,

    375 glasses of lemonade,

    260 ears of corn-on-the-cob,

    65 garden salads, and

    40 cups of blueberries.

    Many of the vegetables used in the vegetable stir-fry as well as the blueberries were grown at the University's Horticulture Research Farm. 

    The 2004 Food Booth earned a profit of about $3,300 with record sales of $5,650.
