Thanks to hundreds of PVGA Farm Show booth volunteers, the Association’s sales exceeded $200,000 for the second year in a row. Preliminary figures show a profit of about $60,000 – possible only with the dedication of our faithful volunteers. Although we had quite a few vacancies right up to the start of the 101st Farm Show, in the end PVGA members and friends came forward to fill the spots and keep the booth operating smoothly. Jack, Jackie and Nancy Grace, along with Boots Hetherington, volunteered for the entire week to oversee the soup and drink sections of the booth. Brian Campbell, Bill Reynolds and Rob Shenot shared the management duties with Bill Troxell. Brenda and Karen Michaels of Michael’s Concessions again provided the equipment and personnel to prepare and cook the batter-dipped vegetables and blooming onions while Andrew Roberts and his staff prepared the funnel cakes and fried pickles. PVGA volunteers served all the products to the customers. Watch for a more detailed report in the newsletter along with pictures on the website.
