The Mid-Atlantic Strawberry Programs will be held February 27 to March 1, 2017, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, this year. The Programs begin with a Strawberry Field Walk on February 27 from 12:30 p.m. until dark at Hickory Ridge Farms and Brookdale Farms-Chesapeake, both in Chesapeake, Virginia. That evening there will be New Grower Workshop/Back to Basics Training. The Strawberry School and Trade Show will be held February 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Advanced Technology Center. The educational sessions feature Dr. Hannah Burrack, Dr. Charles Johnson, Dr. Jeremy Pattison, Dr. Jayesh Samtani, Dr. Allen Straw, and Dr. Natalia Peres plus 5th generation strawberry grower Danny Van Meter. On March 1, there will be a Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training session on the FSMA Produce Safety Rule.
