Amy Metrick, Butler         daughter of Kenneth and Cathy Metrick

Amy Metrick, who received a Grob scholarship the last two years, is the daughter of Ken and Cathy Metrick who operate Harvest View Farm in Mount Chestnut near Butler.  She has completed her third year at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport and is currently in her fourth year studying horticulture and business. She has been actively involved in the family’s farm operation which includes production of various fruit and vegetable crops for their retail farm market.  Amy has also assisted with educational farm tours for school students at the family farm and maintains the landscaping around the market. Active in 4-H work serving various club leadership roles, Amy has shown champion hogs and sheep at the Butler Farm Show and also competed at the State Farm Show.  She served as the 2009/2010 Beaver/Butler/Lawrence County Lamb and Wool Queen.  As an athlete, she has lettered in Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field six times in high school.  An active member of Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, Amy served on the steering committee for the church’s 150th anniversary celebration, as a Vacation Bible School teacher and in other capacities. At college, Amy has been named to the Dean’s List and is active in the Horticulture Club.
